SMS Workshop / CASO WorkshopSafety Management Systems and Company Aviation Safety Officer
Who should attend: Accountable Executives, Operations Managers, Persons Responsible for Maintenance, Company Safety Officers, Quality Assurance Managers and other key personnel can all benefit from this workshop. This two-day course is designed to meet Transport Canada’s regulatory expectations for Operations Managers under CARS Standard 723.07(2)(a)(i)(c) and for the person managing the SMS for Approved Maintenance Organisations as defined in CARS Standard 573.06(8). It is also consistent with the CBAA POC program under CARS 604. The course delivers SMS training that will be of significant value to decision-makers at all levels and in all areas of your company. There are both theoretical and practical components that will help participants develop and manage effective Safety Management Systems or Company Aviation Safety Management Programs. Participants receive comprehensive sample SMS documents in both text and electronic format. We deliver safety infrastructure, safety information, risk management, emergency response, safety awareness, and safety assurance plans that can easily be edited to become your company’s SMS manual. We also include a useful safety survey, detailed goals for establishing and maintaining your SMS, and a comprehensive checklist for evaluating safety in your organisation. Note: In addition to the regular course package, we offer a special supplement for operators of very small companies. Materials are provided in both printed form and on a CD/ROM. All forms are simple, easy to adapt, and convenient to use. High quality training manuals address the following topics:
Enthusiastic instruction, comprehensive A/V presentations and realistic case study exercises support the course materials. David Andersen of SNI Safety Nets Inc. will deliver the workshop. SNI has been presenting similar training across the country since 2003. Prior to his retirement in 2002, David was employed by Transport Canada System Safety in Pacific Region where he delivered the CASO workshop for several years. |
